Apple TV+ is an American subscription streaming service owned and operated by Apple Inc. Launched on November 1, 2019, it offers a selection of original production film and television series called Apple Originals.
In 2021, Apple TV+ green-lit the thriller series Severance, created by Dan Erickson and heavily marketed that Ben Stiller would be directing. The series was a smash hit at its release on Apple TV+ on February 18, 2022. They quickly renewed the series for a second season, and announced the renewal on April 6, 2022. Production of the second season began in October of 2022.
